No Would Take Again: Level of Difficulty 3. His class is not easy, but if you don’t act like an idiot in class, he’s an extremely kind and generous person, and will talk to you in his office for long periods of time 3 people found this useful 1 person did not find this useful report this rating.
Reads directly from his printed notes without class participation.
Blankinship knows his stuff, but is incredibly boring and gives out ridiculous study guides before tests. Do not take this class!!! Hated the class with a passion because he’s an awful teacher. I think that he is very bias in his teaching. Submitted data becomes the property of RateMyProfessors. Makes everything very interesting. Dry sense of humor, thinks you should know everything the way he does, gives hard study q’s to do, tests are ridiculus.
Professor Blankinship is a very intelligent man, he is extremely well read and does not have to guess at anything when it comes to history or religion. Dr Blankenship’s expectation in his 3 credit course exceeded 4 credit courses. We’re all counting on you. Poor class management between students. He did not answer emails.
Yes Would Take Again: Help out your fellow students. Help guide your fellow classmates by giving them the inside scoop! IF you pay attention, then you will understand a lot of things you may have never even thought of.
Ads can be annoying, but they allow us to provide you this resource for free. I withdrew from this class Not for someone looking for a crash course credit There was A LOT of reading to do and he had very high expectations, but it was very interesting.

If you use an ad blocker, we’re not getting that revenue that kualid keep RateMyProfessors. I think he should actually do something. Would highly NOT recommend. The depth of his religious knowledge, and historical knowledge is probably not equalled by many people anywhere. Pretty sure he’s lost touch with reality. He was essentially a total disappointment. All issues he directed to the TA. His classes require work, but the rewards are high.

I took a religions course and he expected us to know way too much specific information. My advice is to take his class seriously and you’ll do fine. IP addresses are logged. Hope you had a good semester. His class is not easy, but if you don’t act like an idiot in class, he’s an extremely kind and generous person, and will talk to you in his office for long periods of time.
He was not helpful.
This was my most interesting class of the semester!!! Only one term paper and its only 4 pages. Choosing the right professor blankinshlp easy! Assigned 6 books for reading, he doesn’t discuss the books, but students write about the books which gives him insight.
He goes off on tangents, and never returns, he wakes up in the morning and asks himself “what will i rant about today? Someone should tell this teacher that we are taking other classes. They’ll do the same for blanoinship. More for someone who wants to do a major. Blankinship, as others have said, is extremely knowledgeable on the subjects he teaches, as well as most related subjects.

More Professors from this school. And he was completely not understanding of illness or weather related commuting issues.
His downfall, is like a lot of Professors, he has taught so long, that he doesn’t really lbankinship to do it anymore, and has lost his enthusiasm.
