Stross has always been adjacent to the books I’m already reading, forever showing up on recommended lists. What a lucky find. There’s also a lot of stuff about gender that I feel is poorly done. And I used her to get my-mother-the-librarian to read it, too. What I find unconvincing is the idea that the 50’s will leave a greater impact on the future because it predates the proliferation of cheap recording media.
